A worm was known in antiquity as plowing or gut of the earth because excavated galleries, returning to the porous ground and providing oxygenation and water permeability.

But it was in California during the decade of the 50s, home of the first intensive breeding of earthworms. Since then they have continued to undertake research in order to get more and more worms and more rustic degradative capacity. Currently the main types used in the intensive worm are three existing eight thousand species: Eisenia foetida; Lombricus rubellus; Red Hybrid.

By their external appearance is very difficult to distinguish. However, differences in regard to their technique of operation are remarkable. Lombricus rubellus and Eisenia foetida require greenhouses equipped with heating, lighting and surfaces artificially limited, while Red Hybrid, it is possible to exploit it in an open field without permanent accommodation or greenhouses. Knowing earthworms

From the ecological point of view, earthworms are classified as epigeic, live on the soil surface, feeding on organic matter and produce humus. Endogenous are the best known, live in the soil, dig horizontal galleries and eat dirt. Anechoic, living in the soil, dig vertical galleries and overnight rise to the surface of the soil feeding on organic matter.

The hermaphroditic earthworm is insufficient, saying both sexes, but need to mate to reproduce. Each worm is equipped with a male genitalia and a female genital tract. The male genital system is composed of the testes are glands that secrete sperm. The female genital tract receives and holds the sperm until fertilization.

Two worms in coupling phase rotating in the opposite direction from each other, so contact the male genital tract of the female genitalia of the other

They are extremely prolific. Sexually mature between the second and third months of life, deposited every 7-10 days, a capsule or egg content ranging from 2-20 embryos turn after 14-21 days of incubation, hatch, causing worms in terms of immediately move and nurtured. Each worm can live up to 16 years.

Recycling Pinworms

Earthworms are able to ingest daily through 90por percent of their average body weight 0.6 gr. The use of the worm would be optimal for her treatment of some waste, not only from an economic standpoint, but, above all, ecological. Also produce humus that is an excellent fertilizer as well as having all the essential nutrients (N, P, K, C) contains a rich bacterial flora, which allows the recovery of nutrients retained in the field, the processing of other materials organic and the elimination of many contaminants.

This did not know

In the pharmaceutical getting used to collagen and an antibiotic for the treatment of typhoid. Do not bleed when producing a cut on his body and be completely immune to the polluted environment in which they live, as well as its high capacity for regeneration of tissues, are of research to be applied in human medicine.

This reptile’s diet should be varied and rich in protein, vitamins and nutrients. The feeding an iguana is not as simple as it seems, with things as simple as they can cause significant damage.

For example you can not give a large piece of food, but you cut it into small pieces to facilitate the animal can digest easily.

The temperature must be warm. You should not put in the dish hot or cold as it could cause lack of appetite.

Iguanas are animals that eat grass, although there are certain vegetables that they should not eat spinach, cauliflower, celery or broccoli, as well as carrots, bananas, grapes, lettuce, rhubarb and onions contain a substance called tannin which is very harmful to animal health.
Do not you owe in addition to lettuce, because it does not add any substantial nutrient your body also makes you lose your appetite. Iguanas “picky or too sensitive?

Iguana’s diet should contain high percentages of calcium, vitamin D and phosphorus to prevent the spreading of a so-called MBD, which is a metabolic bone disease.

Some things you can feed these reptiles are:

Beet, parsley, turnip greens, hibiscus leaves, mustard leaves, pink flowers, flowers, dandelion, blackberry, pumpkin, radish, tomato, cucumber and asparagus.

Some fruits that will help your digestion are:

The papaya, fig, apple, watermelon, mango, raspberry, kiwi, melon, plum, pear and strawberry.

The container of food must be always full, they eat at any time. At each change of food you should wash the container, very careful not to use a strong soap dishes, because it could poison the smell.

Keeping insecticides and detergents removed from the site where is located the pet’s cage is extremely important because it can cause poisoning and kill them with just the smell

This is a breed of domestic pigs in recent years have become fashionable as pets.

It was George Clooney, the famous American actor, who set the fashion of Vietnamese pigs as pets around the world. Clooney lived with his pet “Max” for 18 years until he died in 2006.

What can you expect from a Vietnamese pig as a pet?

These cute creatures are very intelligent, playful, loving, clean and easy to educate. They are friends of all domestic animals and can become loyal pets like dogs. However, it is necessary to socialize them from small to get used to human touch. The Vietnamese pig, the most exotic pet

The stroke left Vietnamese pigs can eat from our hands and stand by our couch. They love to play and go for a walk with the dogs. However, they tend to be somewhat stubborn, so without the proper stimulus can be very destructive.

When searching for food, there is nothing to stop them, are able to open cupboards and refrigerators.

The great smell of Vietnamese pigs makes them good trackers, as well as its already known truffle hunters use, are used to detect caches of explosives and drugs in some countries.

Vietnamese Pigs, like dogs, they need a leader who set the rules and set limits. They also need to congratulate them when you do things right.

Vietnamese pork Care

Vietnamese pigs can live between 15 and 25 years. They are usually black with white spots on the belly, tail tip, some leg … Their weight ranges between 45-55 kg, a medium sized dog. They are omnivorous animals, feed for horses (12% crude protein, 12% fat, cereals and vitamins), is ideal for use as a staple food of these animals, since they are not fattening and keeps them healthy and strong.

They can eat fruits and vegetables, fish, meat, or compound feed for dogs, but this will get fat too.

Vietnamese pigs need to drink fresh water, walk, exercise, and interact with other congeners. They also need vaccinations and deworming, as any dog.

Veterinarians recommend that they provide some toys, like a ball, as in its natural habitat, is dedicated to searching for food with his nose.

The first and foremost, it is preferable to have captive bred fish caught in the wild. The latter may be cheaper initially, but have a number of problems: these animals have suffered severe stress from the time they were captured later in the shipment, usually in poor conditions (too many animals in a confined space, not eating ..), to the importer’s warehouse and then again in the new shipment to retail outlets.

All this leads to the occurrence of a weakening of the system inmundefensivo that lets defense against parasitic infections, or other
diseases, and often ends in death of the animal. All this without counting the damage that occurs in wild populations by capturing specimens for trade.

Hard copies are currently bred in captivity with Simple rules for successful keeping turtles in captivity more likely to achieve an age of longevity.

Normally, it is preferable to acquire private breeders turtles, since that, besides the prices are significantly lower (it should be recognized that the prices set by some pet shops do deter potential fans started turtles in this activity), a person who has managed to bring their turtles reproduce must have sound knowledge on the maintenance in captivity of these animals can transmit knowledge that the purchaser of the turtle.

Also (sorry if any owner of a pet shop is offended) the sellers of pet shops often lack any knowledge about the needs of the turtles, types of species, origin ….. tell us what are often limited to name them by the wholesaler (which is sometimes even to be wrong).

Quarantine

It is advisable to keep in quarantine for one to two months for new copies before mixing with the rest of the collection. Some people recommended this quarantine extend up to one year.

Information

It is essential to be informed of the species of turtle that is maintained; place of origin, customs, food, etc..

Without this information will probably commit many errors, which can have fatal consequences.

Vet

It is advisable to find a vet near our place of residence to I turn in an emergency. Preferably who is knowledgeable about reptiles.

Do not mix species

It is very important to keep turtle species (including subspecies) isolated from each other, to prevent disease transmission. There are diseases for which a species can be immunized, but is yet lethal to other species.

He does not mix species refers also to the reproduction. Mix species or different subspecies can lead to deformities or other problems
in the offspring.

Replicate habitat of origin

Turtle species with features that have now are the result of thousands of years of evolution, which has led to some species are adapted to life in the desert, others live in forests, some are adapted to feeding on plants, other meat … you should try to learn all these features and reproduce in captivity.

Natural sunlight

There is nothing better artificial nature, and this is clearly seen in referred to sunlight, no light bulb may never play the good he does in the turtle’s natural sunlight.

For this we must try as long as the conditions of space, weather, etc. permit, to keep the turtles outside

Many factors affect the health of a reptile. Internally must be healthy, with their systems working properly. Although never be fully wormed, your immune system must be able to control the colonies of bacteria, parasites and germs to not play too much and begin to affect the normal functioning of the body.
The skin of a healthy animal looks good corresponding to each species. For most reptiles, this means that look “filled”, without too many folds in the skin that could be evidence of dehydration. The color should be full and bright. A healthy animal usually behaves according to its kind, attentive around, thermoregulated during the day, eats, drinks water and defecate regularly (according to the cycle of each individual).

The molt is regular. It occurs approximately every 4-6 weeks and more frequently in animals growing. In addition, there are periods during the year: the fastest growing (spring-summer) the animal will move your skin more times than in the lowest growth (autumn-winter). Detecting Stress and Disease in Reptiles
But what makes a healthy reptile? Not enough to buy an animal that looks healthy. The most important factors to be taken into account are:

The terrarium should be the extent and orientation needed for each species and must be properly acclimated (vertical height for arboreal animals, sufficient space to allow a variable range of temperature, location for the location of and other terrarium).

Sufficient moisture.

Provide water so that each individual can use it (semi-aquatic animals baths or drinking fountains)

Adequate heating and gradual heat (this means that the cage has space with high and low temperature).

Adequate lighting tubes (UVA / B if required, cycles of day / night regular)

Eating healthy, appropriate for each species and provided in a particular way (in terms of size and quantity) for each individual.

Regular cleaning of food waste and faeces (half day) and the terrarium in full (every one or two weeks).

Regular monitoring of the tank to ensure proper maintenance (every other day).

Control of each animal to detect changes in behavior or appearance that could be evidence of stress or illness.

Deworming twice a year.

Access, if necessary, a veterinarian specializing in reptiles.

The above list may be helpful. but it is essential to know the requirements of each particular species to make sure to give the animal everything you need. It should also be sufficient time to know the behavior of animals and to detect any changes before it is too late.
Even the smallest things can lead to big problems. Stress can occur suddenly when making changes or sudden changes in the terrarium, the power is cut suddenly for long periods, leaving the animal without heat or light, a new cage mate is introduced, other animals like dogs or cats roam the terrarium , an episode of excessive handling by many people, etc. On the other hand can be slowly and gradually if the animal can not drink because drinking it is inaccessible, the food is not given in the right size, too many bugs in the terrarium that annoy the animal, there is no day-night cycle temperature and light set and regulate the temperature inside the terrarium does not vary according to location, very hot or very low, hiding inadequate or insufficient, dominant animals in the terrarium, etc..

The four fingers or white belly, face more often have a white or clear, while Pruner has a darker side or mask. The most obvious difference is the number of toes on the hind legs. The Pruner urchins and those of Algeria have five toes, while the white belly are also known as “four finger” for obvious reasons (but only on its hind legs)

Hedgehogs are completely independent at this age, and adapt to the new owners much more easily while they are young. This does not mean that an older hedgehog can not get used to and be friendly to you. Only required a little more time and patience! Choosing a hedgehog

Hedgehogs have historically been considered solitary creatures that usually do not get along with other sea urchins, and only approach each other to reproduce. Although this view is changing, with many breeders who maintain at least female groups together, and in some cases, groups of males. If you have more of a hedgehog with, be sure to provide enough space. Hedgehogs seem very happy when they have them individually, except when they have been partners in other urchins.
