For most people the word rabbit, meaning the image of a creature with a gentle eyes and a nose that is constantly moving. However, the fact is that it has gone from being a farm animal that was intended purely for consumption to become a member of the family in many households worldwide.

There is a common belief that rabbits and hares are animals afraid. In its natural range, this behavior is determined by the need for survival, these animals are the main target of many predators such as wolves, eagles, foxes and weasels, so keep alert attitude is your best weapon.

Thus, any threat, this animal has only two choices: to flee or duck pretending to be dead. At home, they behave similarly. If you notice loud noises or high rabbit will flatten against the floor, ears back, eyes wide open, and you shake your body. Have a house rabbit

This need for security leads them to mark the territory they consider their membership. In the field they will by placing branches or stones around the hole or by bodily secretions.

In her life pet, these animals consider their cage or shelter sites most frequently, territories will also be perfectly defined by the animal. Although calm, clashes are not uncommon with conspecifics to defend their space.

We begin by commenting that the site that we will prepare a aquaterrariums not exactly, but is rather of a turtle. Acquired in any normal retail outlet the following:

1. Turtle. Usually glass containers (there are also PVC that are very undesirable), without cover, cut across from the rear to front up to half of the height, which contains an “island” may well be artificial to plastic or artificial turf. Be purchased as large as we can in accordance with our possibilities (space at home, in the room, you do have a balcony or terrace, etc.)

2. Termocalentador. While not recommending any professional use since the turtles might break them, the fact that these animals are still young at the time of purchase and when you can grow well protected (with a grid, for example) strongly recommend their use since they are more easily accessible, cheap and versatile on the market. The powers are different and like the turtle will look liters of water to “warm up” to know that power purchase. For just one example: I use a 25v for termocalentador of 22l capacity of turtle (the turtle actually only contains about 6-7 liters of water.) This element is essential for optimal care of our / as turtle / as, because it is tropical animals (at least in most species and especially the usual commercially available.) Building a Turtle

3. Filter. They are of two types, internal or external (cascade). My recommendation is to install an external filter such as water must be pumped from the turtle to the filter itself and is then returned through a pipe hole on top that is visibly improved oxygenation. If you can not, the installation of an internal filter is also a feasible solution for at this stage, all the internal filters are supplied with a system that generates “bubbles” (for good oxygenation of the water.)

I particularly and for reasons of Space is the second system that I have installed on my turtle. Please note: the power to overcome filtered twice (in liters) of water to be filtered and in relation to why we should buy our filter. As an observer to comment that these filters are prepared to add bacterial colonies for biological functions in the water. From my point of view, entirely expendable (except if you consciously imitate the natural habitat of the tortoise.) Filter may be dispensable (do not recommend it for any reason) that if, if you do not mind changing continuously (daily or near) the water in the turtle. Not counting the shocks that produce the turtles daily changes in water temperature!

4. Hot surface. Or what is the same, a system to heat the portion of the turtle submerged. Usually it is a special lamps (mercury vapor lamps, etc..) Emitting ultraviolet A and B and heat. Expensive. A feasible solution – well cool, by the way – can be installed on the turtle, a neon lamp chosen the correct power (in relation to the distance that the turtle is) to get the same special lamps functions but significantly lowering costs and also get a dramatic effect on your turtle. Anyway, forgive me and the experts, this system is expendable because the turtles are adapted quite well to the normal temperature of a home (15-20 º C).

Animal News: Suki, the kitten who survived a full cycle in the washer. Very often the cause neglect of domestic accidents with pets. This time, what could have been a tragedy occurred in Australia, and its protagonist was a Siamese cat who was only seven months.

Suki went through a complete cycle in a washing machine, lather, rinse and spin, and fortunately left intact. To the surprise of Fear Liz, the owner, so far surprised to remember when you remove the clothes from the machine and with it, your pet.

A big scare for Liz, who said that Suki “his body was cold and colorless” and immediately called emergency medical services for animals. After examining the animal, the vet warned that the state desaludde Suki was very serious, but fortunately the cat survived and recovered well.

Liz and their children who watched television at the time of the accident, had noticed the absence of the pet, but figured I would be sleeping anywhere in the home, but less in the washer.

Although this story has a happy ending, leaves us a call to the responsibility of adopting a pet: it depends on us, or help prevent accidents, our animals at home.

1. Mirrors

Especially fun if your cat has never seen his reflection, cats tend to become foufou the first time they see a mirror. Hang a mirror on the wall or place it on the ground and watch your cat play like a madman.

2. Ball Ping Pong

If you have a hard floor (no carpet, it does not work as well) bounce a ping-pong on the ground. The noise instantly attracts cats, and they are fascinated by this new game sure to pick up the ball after tennis, or you will be woken at three in the morning to the sound of ping-pong bounce around your home.

3. Empty Boxes

Working at home, I get lots of packages in the mail. I discovered that if you leave an open box on the floor, the cats will sit on or in the box. Any kind of cardboard will do.

4. Shoelaces, cords, son

Almost the base of the toy cat. Drag the shoelaces on the ground, and cats will rush to catch it. Keep shoelaces in the air and watch the cat jump and try to catch it!

Caring for a kitten can be intimidating the first time for some cat owners. There are many things to know about caring for kittens kittens. From Diapers to socializing your kitten, you have to learn these things in order to raise your kitten properly.

Caring for a kitten should be a pleasure. You watch your kitten and you see a creature totally powerless in the first days. You need to take care of your kitten so that it becomes strong, intelligent.

Kittens develop very quickly. In the first six weeks, they will grow faster than in their entire lives. This step is crucial. There are some things you should not do during this stage in the life of a kitten.

You should not feed your kitten with the dog food. This can make you smile but many people do. You should not feed them table scraps or other. Do not give your kitten canned tuna or any other type of canned fish to humans. You must feed your kitten with the specialty foods.

Socializing your kitten is part of the care you need to bring. You can talk to your cat, cuddling with your kitten, and play with him, they associate positive experiences with you and thus become very socialized.

A worm was known in antiquity as plowing or gut of the earth because excavated galleries, returning to the porous ground and providing oxygenation and water permeability.

But it was in California during the decade of the 50s, home of the first intensive breeding of earthworms. Since then they have continued to undertake research in order to get more and more worms and more rustic degradative capacity. Currently the main types used in the intensive worm are three existing eight thousand species: Eisenia foetida; Lombricus rubellus; Red Hybrid.

By their external appearance is very difficult to distinguish. However, differences in regard to their technique of operation are remarkable. Lombricus rubellus and Eisenia foetida require greenhouses equipped with heating, lighting and surfaces artificially limited, while Red Hybrid, it is possible to exploit it in an open field without permanent accommodation or greenhouses. Knowing earthworms

From the ecological point of view, earthworms are classified as epigeic, live on the soil surface, feeding on organic matter and produce humus. Endogenous are the best known, live in the soil, dig horizontal galleries and eat dirt. Anechoic, living in the soil, dig vertical galleries and overnight rise to the surface of the soil feeding on organic matter.

The hermaphroditic earthworm is insufficient, saying both sexes, but need to mate to reproduce. Each worm is equipped with a male genitalia and a female genital tract. The male genital system is composed of the testes are glands that secrete sperm. The female genital tract receives and holds the sperm until fertilization.

Two worms in coupling phase rotating in the opposite direction from each other, so contact the male genital tract of the female genitalia of the other

They are extremely prolific. Sexually mature between the second and third months of life, deposited every 7-10 days, a capsule or egg content ranging from 2-20 embryos turn after 14-21 days of incubation, hatch, causing worms in terms of immediately move and nurtured. Each worm can live up to 16 years.

Recycling Pinworms

Earthworms are able to ingest daily through 90por percent of their average body weight 0.6 gr. The use of the worm would be optimal for her treatment of some waste, not only from an economic standpoint, but, above all, ecological. Also produce humus that is an excellent fertilizer as well as having all the essential nutrients (N, P, K, C) contains a rich bacterial flora, which allows the recovery of nutrients retained in the field, the processing of other materials organic and the elimination of many contaminants.

This did not know

In the pharmaceutical getting used to collagen and an antibiotic for the treatment of typhoid. Do not bleed when producing a cut on his body and be completely immune to the polluted environment in which they live, as well as its high capacity for regeneration of tissues, are of research to be applied in human medicine.

For the past two qualities are advised to be one of the first pets that a child has. These animals are distinguished from all other vertebrates have a shell that protects your body. In most turtles, the shell forms a housing with cavities where they can get the limbs, tail and head.

What to us is the skeleton, for theirs is the shell. Because the vertebrae are presented in panels. These reptiles have maintained this appearance of over 200 million years.

They are usually shy and turn to hide inside its shell.

Where did you have it?

There are several alternatives as to what can occupy our space turtle. Options range from a small house of turtles, or a simple tank. Just need water, a conditioner to remove chlorine and calcium in it to keep your turtle shell is soft. Lindas Turtle

You must take into account what kind of pet turtle you have because you can opt for an aquatic or terrestrial turtles. Both are beautiful. That is not to say that only water remains in the water, so it must be vented to the surface. I really do not need large amounts of water to live, but neither should be completely dry environments for long. Tortoises kept most of the time in dry areas. We must put a terrarium where they can eat grass and sunbathe while taking shade. But be careful if you place it outside in the garden, as turtles bury themselves seasonal, and you’ll get a surprise after seeing her walking as if nothing near the place where you last saw.

This reptile’s diet should be varied and rich in protein, vitamins and nutrients. The feeding an iguana is not as simple as it seems, with things as simple as they can cause significant damage.

For example you can not give a large piece of food, but you cut it into small pieces to facilitate the animal can digest easily.

The temperature must be warm. You should not put in the dish hot or cold as it could cause lack of appetite.

Iguanas are animals that eat grass, although there are certain vegetables that they should not eat spinach, cauliflower, celery or broccoli, as well as carrots, bananas, grapes, lettuce, rhubarb and onions contain a substance called tannin which is very harmful to animal health.
Do not you owe in addition to lettuce, because it does not add any substantial nutrient your body also makes you lose your appetite. Iguanas “picky or too sensitive?

Iguana’s diet should contain high percentages of calcium, vitamin D and phosphorus to prevent the spreading of a so-called MBD, which is a metabolic bone disease.

Some things you can feed these reptiles are:

Beet, parsley, turnip greens, hibiscus leaves, mustard leaves, pink flowers, flowers, dandelion, blackberry, pumpkin, radish, tomato, cucumber and asparagus.

Some fruits that will help your digestion are:

The papaya, fig, apple, watermelon, mango, raspberry, kiwi, melon, plum, pear and strawberry.

The container of food must be always full, they eat at any time. At each change of food you should wash the container, very careful not to use a strong soap dishes, because it could poison the smell.

Keeping insecticides and detergents removed from the site where is located the pet’s cage is extremely important because it can cause poisoning and kill them with just the smell
